FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS/DISCONTINUING LESSONS

A non-refundable fee of $30 per student is required yearly for registration. The adult responsible for the student is obligated for the monthly payments whether or not the student continues to come to the class. One-month notice is required when withdrawing from UCM. Please notify the office by the 15th of the month before withdrawal. A withdrawal requires a signature in person. Students taking classes pay the full fee in advance, regardless of the amount. No refunds will be issued. Only the Director may consider requests for release from this contract in the event of extenuating circumstances. Students are held responsible for their last month’s tuition if withdrawal is after the 15th of the previous month, whether or not they attend lessons.

REFUND/WITHDRAW POLICY

Students taking classes make a financial commitment for the duration of the class (or remaining portion thereof). If on a monthly payment schedule, the adult responsible for the student is obligated for the monthly payments whether or not student continues to come to the class. Every student is required to give a one-month notice when withdrawing from UCM. Students taking classes pay the full fee in advance, regardless of the amount. No refunds will be issued. Only the Director may consider requests for release from this contract in the event of extenuating circumstances. Students will be responsible for their last month’s tuition whether or not they attend lessons. If on a semester or year plan, there are no refunds, but you may receive a gift card for the remainder of the lessons if you withdraw.

SUMMER VACATION

All classes at UCM are year-round. Payment is due on the 1st of the month by automatic payments to reserve your lesson day, time, and teacher. Card information will be stored on file and charge automatically on the 1st.

CANCELLATIONS

UCM offers group classes for any lessons that will be missed, for whatever reason. We are unable to reschedule private makeup. To sign up for a group makeup class please visit our website under “Group Makeups.”

If a teacher is unavailable for the regular scheduled time, UCM reserves the right to provide substitutes when needed.

GROUP LESSONS

UCM offers weekly group classes in many different instruments. In order to be able to attend group lessons students are REQUIRED to sign up on our website under the tab “Group Makeups”. If your student has not been properly signed up they will not be allowed to attend the group lesson. UCM reserves the right to cancel group lessons at any point.

EXTREME WEATHER OR UNEXPECTED INTERRUPTION OF LESSONS

UCM must cancel lessons due to extreme weather or events beyond our control. The missed classes will be added on to the end of the semester or rescheduled. No refunds for lessons missed. Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal lesson activity conducted by the students or their siblings before, during, or after the lesson, including hearing loss or hearing damage. UCM is not responsible for any damage done to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.

OPEN DOOR POLICY

Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons/classes or sit in the UCM waiting area. All rooms are equipped with a surveillance system which records soley video and stores it to protect students and teachers. Requests to view surveillance must be taken up with the Director.

PICKING UP CHILDREN

Children or teens must wait for their parents to pick them around the studio. UCM assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied.

PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE

UCM is hereby granted permission to take photographs, video, and/or audio of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements and other promotional materials UCM creates. Permission is hereby also granted for UCM to copyright such photographs, video, and/or audio in its name.

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site. We also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page(s) you visited. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.

SECURITY POLICY

Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
